Luigi Borrelli continue to push the envelope for their Spring/Summer 2012 collection, meshing tailored silhouettes with quality fabrics and hand-stiched details. This Naples, Italy based company is primarily known worldwide for their impressive shirting line, but their attention to detail on their full collections shouldn’t be overlooked. If you’ve being viewing spring lookbooks lately like it’s your day job, you’ve probably noticed that coloured chinos have gone mainstream with virtually every clothing retailer offering their take on the trend. While Borrelli are obviously incorporating several coloured trousers in this line, the colours aren’t screaming for attention. These washed out, softer shades of red, green and blogger blue hit the perfect sartorial sweet spot for cool spring evenings and warm summer days.
Aside from the few pops of colour, the rest of the collection is rather dusty and subdued, creating a very relaxed and casual feel. We like to think of this collection as a great introduction into the realm of Italian tailored goods for the gentleman looking to give his casual wardrobe a pick-me-up.
