Pantone is best known for its standardised colour systems, but the Pantone Universe label also carried that graphic language into lifestyle products. These 2011 socks translated the familiar colour-card format into a simple wardrobe accessory: saturated blocks of colour, a contrasting cuff and the identifying Pantone-style label.
The appeal was less about novelty than colour discipline. A bright sock can work as a controlled accent beneath charcoal, navy or brown tailoring without forcing the rest of an outfit to compete. Choose one shade already present in a tie, shirt stripe or pocket square, or let the socks provide the only strong colour in an otherwise neutral look.
