The ‘Voice’ campaign, produced for the launch of Alfred Dunhill’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection, is a rarity among the oceans of advertising brought to our attention daily. To coincide with London hosting the 2012 Summer Olympics, Dunhill has selected three Olympians to comprise the face of his most recent campaign. Shot by renowned photographer David Sims, selected athletes Sir Matthew Pinsent, Iain Percy, and Louis Smith are photographed in black and white while wearing the swankiest attire Dunhill Spring/Summer 2012 has to offer.
What impresses us so much about these promotional images is the aura surrounding them. Dunhill concentrates on the man within the clothing, revealing the success that each of them has achieved. By focusing little on the attire, Dunhill has created a convincing campaign that infuses the collection with a rugged masculinity. As an added touch, the London clothier has included inspiring quotes from each respective athlete, only furthering the campaigns appeal.
